This home is imagined as a house outside of time: newly built, yet guided by the enduring intelligence of Spanish Revival architecture. Rooted in the clarity and massing of early 20th-century precedents, the design embraces simple, legible volumes with spaces shaped by proportion rather than excess ornament. With a century of hindsight, time has clarified which aspects of this architectural language endure. What remains is not decoration, but structure; not trend, but form. This project distills those lessons, retaining only what has demonstrated longevity and discarding what has not. The result is an architecture of deliberate restraint.
Underlying the project is the ambition of the “200-year house”: architecture conceived not as a finished image, but as a framework for time. The building is understood as incomplete at move-in, designed to accrue meaning through use, weathering, and daily life. In a century, it should feel less like a preserved artifact and more like an inherited place that feels familiar. A house that does not announce its age, but reveals it slowly.
